Familia Unida Hosts Wheelchair Wash and Health Festival October 23

As part of National Disabilities Awareness Month, Familia Unida hosts the 13^th annual Wheelchair Wash and Health Festival, October 23 at the East Los Angeles Civic Center.

From 10 am to 6 pm, volunteers will be on hand to wash, wax, and tune up wheelchairs, as well as provide haircuts, manicures, makeovers, massages, children’s activities, and community resources. Admission is free and includes lunch.

Live entertainment will also be provided. In addition, the nonprofit agency Familia Unida will release 20 doves during the opening ceremony to commemorate its 20^th anniversary.
