Health care product manufacturer Henry Schein Inc has donated more than $80,000 worth of products to Henry Viscardi School at The Viscardi Center, a Long Island, NY-based school for children with severe physical disabilities.

The donated products include hygiene, pain relief, and first aid supplies, as well as equipment for the school’s physical and occupational therapy departments.

The donation is part of Henry Schein Cares, the company’s global corporate social responsibility program, according to a media release from Henry Schein Inc.

“The students at the Henry Viscardi School are a constant source of inspiration as they prove that no obstacle can impede a child’s desire to learn,” says Stanley M. Bergman, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Melville, NY-based Henry Schein Inc, in the release. “We are pleased to provide the school’s health care professionals, therapists, and faculty with the products they need to foster a learning environment that is caring and dignified.”

“The Henry Schein donation adds immensely to the quality of care that we provide to our students with disabilities,” states John D. Kemp, president and chief executive officer of The Viscardi Center, per the release. “The health care product contributions are extraordinary, in that they allow us to be able to redirect some of the resources that we otherwise have to spend on supplies of this nature. We are touched by the commitment Henry Schein makes to us every day.”
