Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation, an 80-bed rehabilitation hospital based in Pomona, NJ, reports that it recently replaced its in-house-developed EHR system with the enterprise EHR System from MEDHOST, Franklin, Tenn. According to a news release from MEDHOST, Bacharach Institute notes that after implementing the new EHR system, the facility experienced streamlined clinical workflows, enhanced clinical communication, and further strengthening of its patient care and safety initiatives.

According to the release, Bacharach considers a smooth implementation of the new system and a high rate of clinician adoption as key contributors to these enhancements. “With the MEDHOST EHR, patient care is more easily documented, offering greater visibility into each patient’s status so we can better coordinate next steps in the care process,” says Diane Mohr, BSN, MBA, CRRN, the facility’s chief nursing officer, in the release.

Bacharach’s vendor-selection team, which reportedly included hospital and IT leaders, physicians, and nurse managers, chose the MEDHOST system because it was designed with rehabilitation hospitals in mind and could be customized to meet specific needs, per the release.

“Being able to quickly and easily customize the clinical and financial solutions on our own really set MEDHOST apart,” Mohr continues, in the release. “This functionality enables us to adjust the system so it dovetails more closely with our hospital’s specific workflow.”

“MEDHOST is very pleased to partner with Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation and support its ongoing strategy of applying the best healthcare technology to deliver the best patient care,” says Craig Herrod, president of MEDHOST, in the release.
