Today, Walton Community Services (WCS) has reported that it will be hosting a groundbreaking for Walton Legacy Apartments, which the organization notes is its 15th independent living community for individuals with disabilities in the SCRA. In a recent news release, WCS notes that the townhome complex will feature 11 fully accessible units, including wider doorways, roll-in showers, and additional accessibility features.
The groundbreaking is slated for 4 pm EDT in South Augusta, Ga. WSC notes that for 17 years, it has maintained a commitment to provide accessible housing and independent living to individuals with disabilities and seniors in the CSRA. The organization adds that through its membership with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, it is able to provide housing to individuals with disabilities and older adults with low income.
WCS also emphasizes its commitment to green housing practices, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and preservation of greenspace.
