oa-congressAccording to a recent news release by the Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI), the 2013 World Congress on Osteoarthritis is slated to be held April 18 to 21 in Philadelphia. The release notes that the annual OARSI Congress is intended as a global forum for all individuals involved in osteoarthritis (OA) research and treatment.

Speakers from around the world are scheduled to present up-to-date information about a wide range of topics linked to joint damage and OA during the meeting. The sessions will reportedly educate attendees on a variety of these topics including integrative medicine, prediction of OA incidence and progression, mechanisms of endochondral ossification in the pathogenesis of OA, the role of exercise and weight loss in OA, and patterns of mortality in patients with OA.

The meeting will also address cartilage biology, non-pharmacology therapy, and immunity tissue biology.
