The TheraPulley, now available from OPTP, Minneapolis, is a portable pulley system that allows the user to control the resistance as well as the exercise angle.
The system, designed by physical therapist Yousef Ghandour, PTP, MOMT, FAAOMPT, attaches to a standard or industrial door frame, and uses a swivel ball bearing Q-Pulley to allow for low-friction movement of weight up to 20 pounds. The hinge side of the door attachment can be adjusted to create multiple angles of resistance through a full range of motion.
The highly portable system can be packed into a carrying bag for transport, for use at home or on the road.
