You can walk and play Wii at today’s American Heart Association’s San Francisco Start! Heart Walk.

Nintendo is particiapating in the event with active game-play kiosks featuring its Wii™ system. All ages can experience Wii Fit™ Plus and Wii Sports Resort™, whether they’re warming up for the walk or looking for fun ways to be physically active.

Roughly 5,000 people are expected to raise more than $1 million for heart-related research and education programs by participating in the San Francisco Start! Heart Walk.

Nintendo’s participation in this and other Start! Heart Walk events is just one of the ways in which Nintendo and the American Heart Association are working together to help consumers discover how active-play video games can contribute to healthy living.

Earlier this year, the two organizations announced a strategic relationship aimed at helping people create healthy lifestyles through physically active play. American Heart Association branding now appears on packaging for the Wii console and Wii Fit Plus software to get people thinking about physically active play.

The Heart Walk begins at Noon today, September 17th, at:
