The continuing education course, “Diagnosis, Management, and Evidence-Based Treatment for Shoulder Disorders,” will take place at Helen Hayes Hospital, West Haverstraw, NY, on Saturday, May 13, from 8 am to 3:30 pm.

Designed for physical and occupational therapists, therapist assistants, hand therapists, athletic trainers, kinesiotherapists, rehabilitation, sports medicine and other professionals, the hands-on workshop will focus on the evaluation and treatment of patients with shoulder dysfunction, according to a media release.

Dr Donald W. Earley, OTD, MA, OTR/L, will discuss the pathoanatomy of the shoulder and the assessment of dysfunction utilizing case studies of recurring, complex shoulder problems. Earley will also discuss current evidence-based interventions and will analyze them for a variety of diagnoses, according to a media release from Helen Hayes Hospital.

Occupational therapists will be able to earn up to 0.6 AOTA CEUs (6.0 contact hours); physical therapists will be able to earn up to 7.2 contact hours; and athletic trainers, kinesiotherapists, hand therapists, rehabilitation, sports medicine and other professionals will be able to earn up to 6 credit/contact hours.
