Advanced rehab technology products company Permobil Inc announces its acquisition of custom seating manufacturer Prairie Seating Corp.
“The timing of this acquisition is perfect, as it aligns both with our growth ambitions and with our goal of adding premium product solutions to the already strong ROHO product portfolio,” says Tom Borcherding, president of Permobil’s global Business Unit Seating and Positioning.

From day one we will be able to offer the highest quality custom seating solutions available in the market today, and our ambition is to significantly enhance users’ access to these solutions,” Borcherding adds, in a media release from Permobil Inc/ROHO.
The acquisition of Prairie Seating Corp provides Permobil Inc with a platform for innovation and growth in the custom seating business, and complements Permobil’s current portfolio of ROHO seating and positioning products.
The custom seating systems in the Prairie Seating catalog, which include the award-winning Reflection brand, will continue to be manufactured from its Skokie, Ill-based facility.
The initial sales focus of will be the US market, with an eye on expansion opportunities in other countries, according to the release.
Permobil’s global operations are headquartered in Sweden. Its US office is located in Lebanon, Tenn.
