Voorhees Pediatric Facility (VPF) announced the recent opening of a new serenity garden at its Voorhees, NJ, facility. A statement from VPF describes the garden as a quiet, peaceful escape where families can share private time with their children outside of the building. VPF is a specialty care center dedicated to helping children who are medically fragile or technology dependent.

VPF reports that it also plans to engrave the names of all the children who have lived at VPF into the river stones that adorn the garden’s water feature. The garden reportedly provides shade canopies, trellises, benches, unique artwork and engraved bricks with personal messages from the staff, friends and family members.

VPF Administrator Scott Goldberg credits employee Doug Kalbach for his work on the 3-year project, and says, “we are proud to announce it has finally become a reality . . . VPF and its wonderful employees like Doug, have always gone that extra mile for its children and their families, and we always will.”

The new garden also includes a patio, fountain, benches and trellises, all supported by donations.
