Complex Rehab Technology provider Numotion expands its presence in Southern and Central California, as well as in Nevada, via its recent purchase of Academy Medical Equipment.

In business for more than 17 years, Academy Medical Equipment has seven locations—six in California, and one in Las Vegas.

As part of this acquisition, 59 Academy Medical Equipment employees will transition to the Numotion family.

“This investment allows us to partner with more therapists and physicians in California and Nevada to provide people living with a disability in these growing states with greater access to innovative mobility resources, products, services, and solutions,” says Mike Swinford, CEO of Numotion, in a media release.

“The Academy team has a great reputation for providing quality equipment, expert and timely service and repair, dependable follow through, along with a real passion for their customers,” Swinford adds. “We are very excited to add this experienced and passionate group of professionals to the Numotion family to better serve even more people with disabilities.”

The acquisition of Academy Medical Equipment is the latest in Numotion’s expansion efforts, according to the release.

Earlier this year, Numotion acquired the Rehab division of CVC Home Medical in Wilmington, NC; Horns Medical Supply in Athens, Texas; the CRT division of BlueDot Medical, Charlotte, NC; and the CRT business of the Ability Center’s San Diego location.
