The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) announces its receipt of a Fastest 50 Award, presented by Trade Show Executive in recognition of the growth in attendance for AOTA’s 96th annual Conference & Expo, held in 2016 in Chicago.

AOTA is currently ranked 29th on the list of 50 fastest growing trade shows in 2016, according to a media release.

The Fastest 50 Award measures three criteria: highest growth in exhibition space, highest growth in exhibiting companies, and highest growth in attendance.

AOTA is being recognized for attendance growth from its 2015 Annual Conference held in Nashville to its 2016 Annual Conference held in Chicago. The Nashville conference drew 9,100 attendees and exhibitors, and the Chicago conference—AOTA’s largest conference ever at the time—drew 10,903 attendees and exhibitors. This reflects a 17% gain in attendance from 2015 to 2016, the release explains.

“This award reflects the innovative thinking of our Conference Team, which is dedicated to improving attendee experience year after year,” says Frederick P. Somers, chief executive officer for AOTA, in the release.

“Constant improvements to the program offerings, tweaking of logistics, and constant consideration of attendees’ goals and needs for our Annual Conference have helped both our attendance numbers and satisfaction rating steadily grow,” he adds.

This is the Association’s fifth Fastest 50 award; AOTA’s Annual Conference & Expo also made the list for its 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014 events. The latest honor was awarded to AOTA recently in Chicago.

AOTA’s 2018 Annual Conference & Expo will be held April 19-22 in Salt Lake City.
