Anaheim, Calif-based company MK Battery recently collaborated with Medtrade to host the inaugural Power for Funding 2011 networking reception at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta. MK Battery reports that the event was well attended by providers and manufacturers.

The 3-hour event featured the presentation of the HME Excellence Awards by HME News and included check presentations to (pictured from left to right) AAHomecare president, Tyler Wilson, NCART executive director Don Clayback, and NRRTS president Michelle Gunn. Mark Wels, MK Battery president (pictured far left) and Dennis Sharpe, MK Battery HME Category Manager (pictured far right) appeared with the check recipients. 

Kevin Gaffey, group show director for Medtrade emphasized that, "The funds raised will greatly benefit the important organizations and the individuals they serve," Gaffey says. He also extended thanks to MK Battery and the other sponsors for their dedication to the industry.

Wayne Merdinger, MkK Battery’s vice president of business development and international sales calls the event a success and hopes it will, "Serve as a catalyst for a new tradition of solidarity at Medtrade. We look forward to building upon the experience to drive even more support for the critical industry initiatives in years to come," Merdinger says.
