Martin Buchalter, 76, a pioneer in the field of medical ultrasound, died November 17, at his home in New York City.
Buchalter served as the president and CEO of Parker Laboratories Inc, Fairfield, NJ, a leading manufacturer of ultrasound and electromedical contact media.
He guided the company to international prominence during a career that tapped his inventiveness and marketing savvy. Through his perspicacity, Aquasonic® 100 ultrasound transmission gel was developed, which helped to shape the medical ultrasound industry.
A graduate of the University of Sciences in Philadelphia, he also held an MSc from Long Island University. Buchalter is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol; three children; and six grandchildren.
