The Boston Business Journal recently recognized David Storto, Spaulding Rehabilitation Network and Partners HealthCare at Home president, as one of its “Champions in Healthcare.” According to a news release, Storto was selected to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award. The award honors the region’s most respected health care professionals, researchers, administrators, and clinicians throughout the health care field.

Scott Schoen, chairman of the board of trustees for Partners Continuing Care (PCC), notes that the recognition reflects, “David’s strategic vision, life-long commitment to excellence and passionate advocacy for those recovering from injury or newly disabled has made him an important voice in our industry that has positively impacted the lives of thousands of patients and families.” The release reports that the care models led by Storto have gained a distinct recognition in the industry and that according to a national study of post-acute systems, researchers favored PCC’s organization of its post-acute assets under one management and governance system over other systems included in the study. PCC is also comprised of Partners HealthCare at Home and the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network.

Storto and his fellow honorees are slated to attend the Champions of Healthcare Ceremony and Breakfast, August 23 at the Boston-based Seaport Hotel.
