As the Florida Legislature recently passed HB21 repealing certain CON (Certificate of Need) state requirements, Everest Rehabilitation Hospitals now plans to invest over $25M in a physical rehabilitation hospital and add over 100 jobs to the expanding region of Port Charlotte, FL.

Everest Rehabilitation Hospital’s free standing comprehensive physical rehabilitation hospital will be constructed on 4.6 acres of land at in the heart of Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda, Florida.

Everest is known for its physical rehabilitation patient care and for developing identical, modern, 40,000-square-foot, 36-bed, single-story physical rehabilitation hospitals. With each of the 36 private rooms complete with contemporary art, 65-inch flat-screen TVs and a private luxury bathroom, staying at Everest’s hospitals are more compared to a luxury hotel versus a typical hospital setting. Everest Rehabilitation Hospitals are predesigned with an option to add an additional 17 private rooms should the market dictate the need for expansion.

Everest Rehabilitation Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida will create over 100 jobs and provide for an $8 million-dollar a year payroll to the community.

“We are ecstatic for the opportunity to serve the Port Charlotte, North Port, Rotonda, Punta Gorda, Placida, Venice, Englewood, Warm Mineral Springs and the surrounding communities. We absolutely believe that patients thrive when their environment and their level of care surpass their expectations. The level of care in our acute physical rehabilitation hospital setting cannot be provided at other levels of care such as skilled nursing facilities (SNF).

“The average length of stay at a comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation hospital is one-third of a typical stay at a skilled nursing facility with far better results. We provide one to one physical therapy, five to seven days a week, daily medical visits by rehabilitation physicians and a strong 24 hour a day nurse to patient ratio that contributes to optimal outcomes and the highest quality of care.”

Jay Quintana, Everest Rehabilitation’s CEO

Everest Rehabilitation Hospital Port Charlotte will feature a comprehensive interdisciplinary physician-led experienced team of rehabilitation therapists focused on increasing patient strength and endurance and improving quality of life in a modern, state-of-the-art setting.
