KesslerKessler Foundation, West Orange, NJ, has announced that it will be holding a benefit for individuals with disabilities who have been impacted by Hurricane Sandy, November 15. The event, Rebuilding Lives After Hurricane Sandy: A Benefit for People With Disabilties, is slated to be held at The Grove in Cedar Grove, NJ.

Rodger DeRose, president and CEO, Kessler Foundation emphasizes the impact of the storm on individuals with disabilities should not be overlooked, noting that, “Many lost wheelchairs, vehicles, and ramps and access to housing and independent living facilities…We look forward to having a full house and helping those most affected in the aftermath of this storm,” DeRose says.

A Kessler Foundation news release notes that the event will feature comedian Jeff Norris, music, raffle prizes, boardwalk games, and more. The Foundation adds that Ben Vereen, actor, dancer, and singer, who received care at Kessler Institute Rehabilitation, is also scheduled to attend the event.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to assist in rebuilding the lives of individuals with disabilities whose needs, the Foundation notes, are now greater since Hurricane Sandy.
