Project Walk Paralysis Recovery Centers announces that it is partnering with the Wings for Life World Run to draw awareness and funds to support spinal cord injury (SCI) research. The May 4 run, according to a news release from SCI Business Solutions, will take place in 35 locations worldwide simultaneously.

However, Project Walk notes in the release that it aims to bring participants to the run’s Santa Clarita, Calif location. The organization notes that the run is designed for all types of athletes and includes a wheelchair run. The Santa Clarita race is scheduled to begin at 3 am PST and will feature a glow-in-the-dark theme.

The release states that in addition to the partnership with Project Walk, Wings for Life has selected Barney Miller (pictured above, center), Project Walk client, as an official ambassador for Santa Clarita run.

Miller articulates his excitement in Project Walk’s commitment to supporting the Wings for Life World Run, “Having the community and team that supports in my rehabilitation, join me on this project is raising awareness and funds for spinal cord injury research, a cause that we’re all so collectively passionate about, is extremely important. The more people that become involved, the closer we come to finding a cure,” Miller says in the release.

“…Our hope is that we can have as many Project Walk clients, family members, and supporters participating at the 3 am run.” Brian Malkinson, director of Operations, emphasizes.
