The PeriCoach, new from Brisbane, Australia-headquartered Analytica Ltd, is designed to provide real-time audio and visual feedback to women performing pelvic floor exercises (“kegels”) to help manage stress urinary incontinence.
FDA approved and available by prescription in the United States, the PeriCoach system consists of a sensor unit containing three biofeedback sensors and smartphone (Android or iOS) app that provides guidance and monitors progress, according to the product’s website.
The information gathered via the sensor unit and transmitted to the smartphone app can also be loaded to PeriCloud, where physicians and physical therapists can monitor patient progress via a web portal, according to the company.
