Walton Rehabilitation Health System and Accord Services will jointly sponsor “Journey Back To Life” Rehabilitation Conference on September 23, at the Kroc Center in Augusta, Ga. The conference is geared toward professionals in the field such as case managers, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, nurses and other related health care and rehabilitation professionals. The event agenda includes lectures focused on brain injury rehabilitation and other neurological conditions, emerging technologies in rehabilitation, and motivation.

Continuing education contact hours are being offered in a number of professional categories. Registration for the full-day conference is $25 per person.

Speakers at the event include Jeremy B. Hertza, PsyD, who will speak about several topics, including “Psychiatric Disturbance in TBI: An Overview.” Also appearing will be Frank D. Lewis, PhD, who will deliver a presentation titled “Neuroplasticity: Implications for Brain Injury Rehabilitation." The event will also feature Dan Miears with a presentation titled “The Climb,” which details his recovery from a motorcycle accident in 1989 that left him a dual-diagnosis paraplegic with traumatic brain injury.
