In recognition of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Awareness Month, the San Francisco, Calif-based company Cytokinetics, Inc, announced that it has committed to several educational and support activities for ALS patients and their families. 

Additionally, the company notes that it will financially support two upcoming events, with Cytokinetics employees participating in the June 23 Young Faces of ALS (YFALS) National Corntoss Challenge, Fort Mason, San Francisco and The ALS Association Golden West Chapter’s South Bay Walk to Defeat ALS September 23 at Arena Green, San Jose.

Blum, Cytokinetics president and CEO adds that the company’s employees strive to gear everyday activities towards advancing a potential treatment to assist patients, “Through our ongoing research and development activities on our skeletal muscle activator, CK-2017357, we engage with patients and caregivers who are battling this disease with persistent optimism and hope. It is a privilege for Cytokinetics to join them to raise awareness and important funding through community events that enable education and continued research into the causes and possible treatments for ALS,” Blum says.
