A live web-based course seeks to provide insight into the Medicare Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) and assist therapists in avoiding fee schedule adjustments.

The course, slated for March 18 and hosted by Rehab Management Solutions (RMS), headquartered in Sturtevant, Wis, is designed to provide participants education about properly implementing, billing, and internally auditing PQRS reporting to meet the requirements of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. RMS adds that the web event will also cover the updated 2014 measures.

RMS reports that while not mandatory until 2015, physical and occupational therapists who successfully report PQRS measures now may receive up to a 0.5% bonus payment. The organization also notes that if unsatisfactory reporting occurs from January 1 to December 31, 2014, therapists will be subject to a 2.0% adjustment in the 2016 fee schedule amounts.

Those interested in participating in the live web event at 12:15 pm CST can register here.

A recorded version will also be made available following the course at a later date. Additionally, continuing education credit for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants has been submitted for approval in several states, RMS says.

RMS is a physical therapist-owned-and-operated company that aims to grow private practices through proven operations and systems.
