Sunrise Medical, Longmont, Colo, offers several new design enhancements on the JAY J3 Cushion, such as a change in fluid volume, a new universal cover design to ensure optimal immersion, and the air PLA insert option, says the company.

The cushion, which was launched in May, has been well-received in the marketplace, according to the company. “The addition of these new options only elevates the strength of the J3 cushion as a complete one-stop seating and positioning solution,” said Michael Proffitt, VP of product management and marketing, in a statement released by the company.

The field variable PLA insert and supplement pad fluid volume will be reduced in to ensure optimal immersion for the client. Although the standard fluid volumes will be changed, the entire range of overfill and underfill modification options are still available. The field variable PLA insert option continues to be an excellent choice for in-field fluid adjustment, or as an evaluation tool, says the company.

The new universal cover design reduces overall complexity and the need for ordering different covers based on different options selected. The cover also features reduced surface tension for optimal immersion for the client into the OptiWell pelvic loading area, says Sunrise.

The new ROHO DRY FLOATATION Air single or dual valve inserts will be offered in addition to the factory filled or field variable fluid options currently available. “The air inserts fit in line with the JAY scientific design principle of individual pelvic fitting for every client," said Joe Klickna, JAY product manager. "The JAY foam base provides excellent lateral stability and the PLA inserts reduce pressure by uniformly distributing load across the entire contact surface area.”

All of the above-mentioned options are available immediately.
