Encompass Health Corporation announces a new brand name, as well as a new logo and visual identity, for Encompass Health, which combines HealthSouth and Encompass Health & Hospice into one single entity.

Formerly operating as two separate brands (HealthSouth within inpatient rehabilitation and an acquired brand, Encompass Home Health & Hospice, within home-based care) made it difficult for stakeholders to see the benefits of its integrated solutions. Therefore, the decision was made to combine both into Encompass Health, according to a media release from Encompass Health Corp.

The rebranding, created in partnership with brand consultancy Prophet, couples the strengths and heritage of both of Encompass’ business segments while reflecting its evolution and leadership in delivering post-acute care.

The new brand name underscores its commitment to “encompassing” more of the healthcare continuum across inpatient and home-based care settings. It also honors the strengths of both of its legacy brands and reflects the company’s expanding geographic footprint.

The logo not only signifies the “E” from Encompass Health, but it also represents interlocking hands and evokes a universal medical symbol. The purple color palette is unique within the healthcare space and the single connecting line in a smooth gradient symbolizes collaboration and connectivity, the release continues.

The company will celebrate its rebranding efforts on February 6th by ringing the NYSE closing bell.

Also on that day, the new Encompass Health website and an updated social media presence will launch, per the release.

Rollout of the new branding at the company’s 127 hospitals and 237 home health and hospice locations will take place over the next year.
