DME equipment retailer SpinLife, based in Columbus, Ohio, announces it is now accepting applications for its 2016 Innovation in Motion Scholarship program.

The annual program, designed to help college students further their education, is open to users of manual and power wheelchairs who are enrolled at an accredited 4-year college or university.

The winning applicant will receive a $1,000 scholarship, and two runners-up will receive $500 gift cards, explains a release from SpinLife.

To enter the program, themed “Life in Motion,” applicants are requested to share their life experiences as a wheelchair user by writing an essay or poem, painting a picture, or using any other medium to expresses what “life in motion” means to them. The submission must fit on one 8.5″ x 11″ piece of paper.

All applicants must be at least 17 years of age and be a legal US resident or hold a valid student visa, and must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0, per the release.

A committee of SpinLife employees and advisors will evaluate the submissions, and will select the winners based on merit and creativity.
