The Veloce carbon fiber foldable wheelchair from Motion Composites has recently received a Red Dot Award for Exceptional Design. This marks the second Red Dot recognition the Canada-based company has received in 2 years.

The Red Dot Design Award is an international product design prize awarded by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany. Awards are presented in the following categories: product design, design agencies, and design concepts.

The Veloce Red Dot is the second one Motion Composites has received. The first was awarded for its APEX wheelchair model in 2017. This means the company has now received a Red Dot award for both its rigid and foldable wheelchair models, it notes in a media release.

“From the beginning, Motion Composites has been laser-focused on developing best-in-class wheelchairs which are not only very light and durable, but also incorporate unique design elements,” says Eric Simoneau, president and CEO of Motion Composites, in the release.

“Selecting the right wheelchair is a very personal decision for our users, and the Veloce is a great choice for someone that wants a foldable model that can be perfectly adjusted to meet their everyday needs.”

The Veloce foldable wheelchair, launched in 2018, is made from carbon fiber and features a unibody frame with a symmetrical crossbrace, integrated impact guards and bubble levels, and adjustability at key points.
