Biodex Medical Systems Inc is set to exhibit its Mobility Assist, a stand-assist ambulation device, at the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) REACH Conference in Seattle, November 8-9.

According to the company, the Mobility Assist is engineered with motorized lifting technology, and aims to protect nurses while encouraging proper movements in weakened or injured patients.

The lifting motion of the stand-assist and ambulation device encourages proper body movement—rather than just helping a patient stand up, it helps them stand the right way, a media release notes.

“We’re very excited to be showing the device at REACH this year,” says Ed Behan, vice president of market development for Biodex, in the release. “Safety is such a growing concern for rehab nurses, and the Mobility Assist helps drive the culture of safety so many are now working toward.”
