Texas Workforce Solutions—Vocational Rehabilitation Services (TWS-VRS) has recognized government services provider MAXIMUS as a regional 2016 Employer of the Year, for its efforts to hire and retain people with disabilities.

The Irving, Tex-based MAXIMUS project supports a large government health care program. MAXIMUS worked with TWS-VRS to recruit and train individuals with disabilities who could help support the people the program serves. The recruitment efforts have been a success, and many of the staff recruited from TWS-VRS remain with the project, according to a media release from MAXIMUS.

“I am very proud of our team for being recognized for this prestigious award,” says Thomas Romeo, president of MAXIMUS Federal. “The passion of our staff in helping government agencies support people with disabilities is one of the hallmarks of MAXIMUS.”

The award was presented to MAXIMUS during a ceremony in late October 2016 as part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The ceremony included representatives from MAXIMUS and staff from TWS-VRS.
