Bluestar Silicones unveiled its new HC2 range of silicones designed to enhance wound management at the recent COMPAMED Show, Düsseldorf, Germany. The SILBIONE HC2 2011 and SILIBIONE HC2 2031 are two biocompatible skin adhesives engineered to accommodate breached skin and open wounds. The company notes that both tacky gels promote balance between skin adhesion and atraumatic removal.
As a result of the products’ silicone composition and hydrophobic nature, no adherence to moist wounds occurs, enabling improved granulation and epithelisation, according to a news release. The products join Bluestar Silicones’ additional line of solutions for wound care management, including its SILBIONE RT foams and SILBIONE RTVs, which reportedly allow access to smart composite materials.
