The Arizona-based assistance organization announces it is changing its name to Advocates for Individuals with Disabilities (AID).

According to the organization in a media release, the name change reflects the importance of putting the individual first, as well as its widening global efforts without being limited to the United States.

“By changing their name, the organization is vastly expanding its outreach and striving to assist those with any type of mental or physical disability by making their name more well known to the public,” says AID spokesperson Monique Tatum, in a release from AID.
