The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) is ranked as the #1 specialty hospital by U.S. News and World Report, for 20 consecutive years.
The rankings, based on a survey of board-certified physiatrists (physicians who specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation, were publised in the July 27th "Best Hospitals" issue of the magazine,
"We are deeply honored by this #1 ranking and the milestone of holding this position in the world for two decades. We are especially grateful to our employees, board members and to the community of Chicago for being the backbone of our RIC ‘s sustained leadership over this time," said Joanne C. Smith, MD, president and CEO, RIC, in the press statement.
Smith also mentioned that RIC will continue to improve, pointing its purchase of a parcel of land that RIC purchased in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood for further expansion of its research facilities.
RIC has been designated the "#1 Rehabilitation Hospital in America" by U.S. News & World Report every year since 1991.
