amputee-coalitionThe Amputee Coalition, Manassas, Va, recently announced the individuals slated to serve on its 2013 officers and board of directors. Individuals chosen for the distinctions include Marshall J. Cohen, New York, who will be reprising the role of chairman of the board, Dennis Strickland, Georgia, returning to the position of vice-chair, and Dan Berschinski, Washington, DC, elected as vice-chair.

Cohen articulates his excitement in serving as chairman of the board, “We are very fortunate to have such an accomplished board of directors that is also dedicated and passionate about serving the limb loss community.”

Rounding out the 2013 officers and board of directors are Jeffrey Lutz, Louisiana, returning as treasurer, and Charles Steele, North Carolina, returning to the position of secretary. The Coalition notes that each officer will serve for a one-year term.

A Coalition news release notes that Annie Berdy, New York, has also been elected to its board. Berdy, president of Lex-Parc Properties, Inc, earned her bachelor’s of science in nursing from New York University. Berdy is reportedly a graduate of the Columbia University Center for Environmental Research and Conservation in Conversation Biology.

Berdy emphasizes her appreciation for the opportunity to advance quality of care and support for individuals living with limb loss, adding, “I look forward to contributing to and collaborating with inspired and accomplished members of the Amputee Coalition community.”

Members who will continue on the Amputee Coalition Board include Pat Chelf, Minnesota, Michael Estrada, Georgia, Mahesh Mansukhani, California, Leslie Pitt Schneider, Minnesota, and Terrance P. Sheehan, MD, Maryland.
