The National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic (NVSSC), sponsored by the Veteran’s Administration, received a boost with donation of more than 100 GPS devices from San Diego-based Millennium Laboratories. The devices were offered to NVSSC a physical representation of the power of technology, and can help wounded warriors to reintegrate into their communities, support their efforts to get to and from job interviews and ongoing medical care, and inspire them to explore all of the opportunities before them.
The NVSSC, which is being conducted through September 23 in various San Diego County locations, was created by the VA to promote rehabilitation of body and spirit by teaching summer sporting activities to veterans with significant physical or psychological impairments. This year’s event includes 110 disabled veteran-athletes.
In a statement from Millennium, the firm reports it is committed to proactively hire and train returning servicemen and women for careers in laboratory sciences.
