National Seating & Mobility (NSM) announces its recent acquisition of the mobility division of Michigan-based Wright & Filippis, a provider of prosthetics, orthotics, and DME services in Michigan.

This acquisition reportedly positions the Franklin, Tenn-based National Seating & Mobility as the leading Complex Rehab Technology Solutions (CRT) provider in Michigan, according to a media release from the company.

“Wright & Filippis is one of the country’s most respected providers of prosthetics, orthotics, custom mobility products and accessibility solutions. This acquisition allows both companies to focus on our areas of expertise to better serve those distinguished clients in Michigan,” says Bill Mixon, CEO of National Seating & Mobility, in the release.

NSM will be assuming Wright & Filippis CRT operations in Metro Detroit and Lansing, Michigan, and its mobility division in Flint will merge within an existing NSM operation in Freeland, Michigan. NSM also currently operates a branch in Troy. Eighteen Wright & Filippis employees, including seven ATPs, will transition to these NSM branches.

“As we reviewed options for our mobility business, there were two key factors we considered; who would provide the best service to our patients and who would provide our staff continued opportunities for growth and advancement. It was determined after researching the market our best fit would be with NSM because they align closely with our culture of patient care and will provide stability for our ATP’s,” explains AJ Filippis, CEO of Wright & Filippis, in the release.
