AbleNet Inc, St Paul, Minn, introduces a third-party funding program to help customers access funding from private insurance providers, the company reports.

Insurance coverage is often available for many of the augmentative and alternative communications (AAC) devices, access solutions such as switches, and mounting systems for beds and wheelchairs offered by the company, it says, noting insurance providers vary in their requirements to receive funding for assistive technology devices and the process may be complex.

Via the program, experts help guide practitioners and customers through the numerous documents required and the specifics of the application process, the company says.

The international company provides educational and technical solutions to help children and adults with disabilities lead productive lives.
