Orange County Global Medical Center (GMC) has received accreditation from HFAP, an organization recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), confirming it as a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

This makes Orange County GMC one of only four Comprehensive Stroke Centers in Orange County, and one in less than 200 nationwide, according to a media release.

“Orange County Global Medical Center’s highly trained stroke team includes board-certified emergency and trauma physicians, neurologists, interventional neuro-radiologists, neuro-surgeons and other stroke care specialists who are devoted to delivering exceptional patient care,” says Orange County Global Medical Center CEO, Suzanne Richards, in the release. “Time is precious when the first onset of stroke symptoms first occurs. As a stroke receiving center, our team is skilled and experienced in treating stroke symptoms, fast.”

As a comprehensive stroke center, Orange County Global Medical Center offers stroke emergency evaluation and intervention, stroke work-up, and stroke treatment in accordance with guidelines set forth by the American Heart Association and post-discharge follow-up.
