Helen Hayes Hospital, West Haverstraw, NY, announces that John Ficucello, PT, MPT, has been named program director of its Spinal Cord Injury/Amputee and Stroke Units.
Ficucello joined the staff 9 years ago as physical therapist, and during his tenure he rose to lead physical therapist on the SCI/Amputee Unit. In his new role as leader of the SCI/Amputee and Stroke Units, he will ensure that patients receive the treatment they need and that all programs and staff meet regulatory agency requirements.
Prior to joining Helen Hayes Hospital, Ficucello received his Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Scranton in 2007. In addition, he is certified in locomotor training and has extensive experience working with patients with spinal cord injuries, amputations and neurological conditions, per a media release from Helen Hayes Hospital.
