Casa Colina Hospital has received a Five-Star rating in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings for 2020, it announces in a media release.
Casa Colina Hospital is among just 8.9% of hospitals nationwide to receive Five Stars—the highest possible score—out of more than 4,500 Medicare-certified hospitals rated. The ratings were announced January 29, 2020, according to the release.
The Overall Hospital Rating summarizes a variety of measures across seven areas of quality into a single rating: Mortality, Safety of Care, Readmission, Patient Experience, Effectiveness of Care, Timeliness of Care, and Efficient Use of Medical Imaging.
The purpose of the Overall Hospital Rating is to improve the quality of information posted on Hospital Compare, a searchable website designed to help Medicare users make decisions on where to receive care.
“We are honored to be recognized by CMS as one of the top hospitals nationwide for overall quality of care and patient experience,” says Felice L. Loverso, PhD, Casa Colina President and CEO, in the release. “Recognitions like this are the direct result of Casa Colina’s commitment to clinical excellence and the unflagging dedication of its employees.”
