As an additional step in its efforts to become a complete cloud solution for physical therapy clinics, WebPT, Phoenix, Ariz, recently announced that it has acquired Health Data Solutions, Inc, which specializes in physical therapy and chiropractic billing and revenue cycle management. A news release reports that following WebPT’s offering of billing services to customers in 2011 and the launching of the service on a national basis in early 2012, the acquisition reflects WebPT’s goal to become a one-stop management solution for PT clinics, encompassing documentation, scheduling, and billing.
Paul Winandy, WebPT CEO, reports that the acquisition is an important step for WebPT, “Health Data Solutions has been successful in the billing industry for years, specifically with PT clinics. With this acquisition we’re able to expand our market reach and provide an even better service to our current customer base,” Winandy says.
The release notes that WebPT has also brought on Robin Roach, co-founder of Health Data Solutions, as director of billing services to oversee the department. In his new role, Roach will be responsible for the overall management of the department and facilitating the growth of WebPT’s billing service offerings.
Roach notes that the missions of both companies have aligned well in the past for customers and calls the transition a great fit, “I look forward to seeing the results of the combination of minds and technologies, and am proud to be part of such an innovative, fast growth company,” Roach emphasizes.
According to WebPT, the organization formally announced its revenue cycle management service in April of this year. The integrated billing service allows real-time access through computer or mobile device and is engineered to manage multiple facets, including posting and reconciling payments and investigating, correcting, and appealing insurance denials.
