Ottobock Ortho-ShapeOttobock, Minneapolis, recently introduced a new orthotics-based seating system, while also announcing the renaming of one of its existing custom seating systems. The company’s OBSS Ortho-Shape and newly named OBSS Tru-Shape (formerly OBSS) are each intended to incorporate an intuitive technology base and client focus.

The OBSS Ortho-Shape is designed to incorporate concepts of body alignment, pressure distribution, well-appointed directional forces, and postural control. The product accommodates users with moderate to complex positioning needs, the company notes, and its design is attended to allow for adjustments as pediatric users grow. Up to four layering adjustments can be made, according to a recent news release.

The release also reports that both the OBSS Tru-Shape and OBSS Ortho-Shape use a digitalized file for production and are intended to fit nearly any wheelbase, including Ottobock’s discovery tmax with tilt-in-space adjustment.
