A new April 29 webinar offers participants the opportunity to learn why water matters to the aging population and why a pool can be a key investment for wellness centers. On its website, HydroWorx points out that among the amenities that retirement communities offer, wellness centers that offer fitness equipment and exercise room are gaining popularity.

The webinar features a case study, illustrating how Walnut Ridge at Clive Senior Community was able to create a successful wellness center by including a swimming pool and smaller therapeutic pool, along with land-based fitness options. The website notes that participants will discover water’s ability to serve as a key option for a retirement community, how to design options that generate revenue, and who benefits from a successful older adult fitness center.

The webinar will be presented by Nicholas Drey, MS, Wellness Director at Walnut Ridge at Clive Senior Community. Drey’s primary areas of focus include geriatrics, land and aquatic fitness, and athletic performance. Prior to his tenure at Walnut Ridge, Drey served as a Health and Fitness coordinator at Mercy Fitness Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and as an adjunct instructor at Coe College. Drey is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, certified as a Health Fitness Specialist, and holds a master’s degree in Exercise Science from Wayne State College.

The webinar will be held from 1 pm to 2 pm EDT.
