Comprehensive Bone Health Education Seminars are scheduled to take place April 3 and April 13 in the Noyes Conference Center at Helen Hayes Hospital in West Haverstraw, NY.

The seminars are being offered by the New York State Osteoporosis Prevention and Education Program, which is headquartered at Helen Hayes Hospital.

The April 3 seminar will take place from 5 pm to 8 pm, and the April 13 seminar will take place from 10 am to 1 pm.

The free seminars—presented by Shari Silverstein, RN, MS, osteoporosis nurse educator, and Michelle Mosner, RD, CDN, osteoporosis nutrition educator—are open to hospital patients, as well as individuals in the community who are interested in learning more about the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.

During the seminars, participants will learn about bone density testing, how to promote healthy bones, and how to reduce the risk factors for osteoporosis and fracture. Participants will also discuss the most current information about nutrition, exercise, and medications available for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.
