Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare and North Florida Women’s Care, both based in Tallahassee, Fla, have joined forces for the new PEACE (Pre-pregnancy Education and Action Campaign Effort) project, which helps medical professionals bolster outcomes for a healthy pregnancy by educating women about steps they can take before becoming pregnant to increase their chance of having a healthy baby later on.
The organizations will launch the campaign on April 16 at 12:30 pm at Tallahassee Memorial Child Care Center, 1200 E Sixth Ave.The aim is to help reduce the infant mortality rate in Leon County, Fla.
The project also includes distribution of folic acid to women of child-bearing age.
