The Chronicle of Higher Education magazine has included Boston’s MGH Institute of Health Professions in its Honor Roll of 2016 “Great Colleges to Work For.”

This is the third consecutive year that MGH Institute has been tapped for inclusion among the Honor Roll, and the seventh year overall that the Institute has been named a “Great College to Work for” by the magazine, according to a media release from MGH Institute of Health Professions.

“Being named to the Honor Roll for the third consecutive year is evidence of the value we place on assuring a rewarding work environment,” says President Jan Bellack, in the release. “It is an affirmation by our faculty and staff that the Institute is a place where talented people have opportunities to thrive as they dedicate themselves to our mission of educating tomorrow’s health care leaders.”

MGH Institute of Health Professions offers post-baccalaureate, direct entry-level master’s and doctorate, and post-professional programs in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, speech-language pathology, and health professions education; and a PhD in rehabilitation sciences.

The top 10 schools in each 4-year size category, and the top four schools in each 2-year size category, are named to the Honor Roll based on the number of times they were honored in the individual recognition areas.

MGH Institute, which was included in the Small Colleges category for schools with fewer than 3,000 students, received recognition in nine categories.

“Nine years in, The Chronicle’s Great Colleges to Work For program is well known as a mark of a college or university that puts thought and effort into serving the needs of its faculty and staff,” states Liz McMillen, the publication’s editor, in the release.

“The colleges and universities that make the list are highly rated by their employees for creating great working environments, an important achievement that helps them recruit top academic and administrative talent,” she adds.
