Physiotherapy Associates has opened an outpatient clinic, and HealthSouth has finalized the purchase of a 50-bed inpatient rehab hospital,as follows:

Physiotherapy Associates Expands Operations in Southwest
Physiotherapy Associates, Exton, Pa, a nationwide provider of outpatient physical therapy services, has opened a new clinic location in Las Vegas on S Tonopah Drive. The clinic is seeing patients and offers a comprehensive range of physical therapy services, including specialized treatment for back pain associated with pregnancy, urinary and fecal incontinence, and chronic pelvic pain. The company has opened 10 physical therapy facilities in the past 8 months, and this location marks the seventh clinic in Nevada.

Leading the physical therapy services at the new clinic is Ashley Tisdale, MSPT, ATC, who  has been a physical therapist for 4 years and an athletic trainer for 5 years. She is currently working toward her BCIA-PMDB certification in biofeedback and pelvic therapy practitioner certification (PTPC).

In addition to the clinic’s physical therapy services, the Las Vegas clinic specializes in pelvic floor dysfunction issues related, but not limited, to pelvic pain, incontinence, urge and frequency, and bladder retraining. An individualized treatment program is created to treat each individual patient’s impairments.

HealthSouth Finalizes Purchase of Desert Canyon Rehabilitation Hospital
HealthSouth Corp, Birmingham, Ala, has finalized its previously announced purchase of Desert Canyon Rehabilitation Hospital, a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located in southwest Las Vegas.

This acquisition adds a third rehabilitation hospital location in Las Vegas, joining HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson, and HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Las Vegas. The company also operates a long-term acute care hospital, HealthSouth Hospital of Tenaya, and a home health agency in Henderson.

The company is a provider of inpatient rehabilitative health care services, operating in 26 states and in Puerto Rico, serving patients through its network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, long-term acute care hospitals, outpatient rehabilitation satellite clinics, and home health agencies.
