The winners of the National Mobility Awareness Month Local Heroes contest are slated to be announced on the weekday morning show The Daily Buzz on the CW network June 8. Viewers are advised to check their local television listings.

According to a National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) news release, the National Mobility Month Local Heroes will appear on the nationally syndicated morning show alongside Sam Cook, board president of the NMEDA, president of Superior Van & Mobility, and Mike Savicki, national spokesperson for National Mobility Awareness Month. The winners will also be awarded with wheelchair accessible vans during the broadcast, NMEDA adds.

The National Mobility Awareness Month’s online program reportedly welcomed more than 1,700 entries, with 1.4 million individuals voting for their Local Heroes. The awareness month’s goal centers on educating seniors, veterans, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities about the wheelchair accessible vehicles and adaptive mobility equipment options available for living an active lifestyle.
