Vantage Mobility International (VMI) announces that it has created a Veteran Advocate Center based at the company’s Phoenix headquarters and manufacturing facilities. The Veteran Advocate Center, the company notes, is part of its Operation Independence program. The Center features a team of former military personnel who offer assistance and support for America’s disabled military veterans who may qualify for VA benefits for mobility vehicles.
Leading the team is US Marine Infantryman Philip Mason, according to a news release from VMI. Mason served three combat tours — two in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. Additional staff includes Brandon Jonescu, US Army Specialist, who was deployed to Iraq in March 2003 with the 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment/Howitzer Battery and later obtained rank of Petty Officer Second Class in the Naval reserve and US Military Police Officer; and Angie Hernandez, who served in support of Operation Enduring Freedom by securing and transporting 232 detainees from Kandahar, Afghanistan, to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Jeff Weston, vice president of sales and business development, VMI, states that the Veteran Advocate Center was created to address the increasing number of questions from VMI’s military customers.
“The process of finding and applying for veterans benefits can overwhelm even the most patient and tech-savvy veteran. Our Veteran Advocate Center team is solely focused on helping our veterans obtain the mobility vehicle benefits,” Weston says. Weston adds that as a former Army captain and graduate of the United States Military Academy, he knows the sacrifices made by veterans firsthand.
Richard May, president of the VMI Dealer Council, emphasizes, “We feel like we owe it to our veterans to help them get the support they need following their service in our military.” The release notes that Operation Independence is a national program developed by VMI and the VMI Select Dealer Network.
