As part of the activities planned to mark Sunrise Medical’s 25th year anniversary as a mobility and seating organization, the company has announced a volunteer outreach effort that challenges each of its associates to participate in 25 hours of volunteer activities. "This represents over 25,000 hours of volunteer work or almost 3 years worth of time for North America alone," states Michael N. Cannizzaro, chairman, president and CEO of Sunrise Medical.

As part of the challenge, the company reports that during the week of May 1, when each North American Sunrise Medical location began to volunteer time to foundations and organizations within their communities. The Fresno, Calif. location volunteered time on April 18th to the Pelco Kids Day, where they reportedly helped to entertain over 800 children with disabilities. Other volunteering events include the 5K “Walk for Dreams” in Indiana, Special Olympics and Children’s Hospital in Washington, Hope for Humanity in Kansas, Therapeutic Riding Centers in Colorado and Maryland, VA Centers in California and Colorado, the Spina Bifida “5K Walk, Run, Roll” in Colorado and various organizations throughout our other locations.
