New from Ft Collins, Colo-based QuadshoX is a line of rear-wheel suspension kits designed for use with tilt-in-space wheelchairs.
Three types of suspension kits are available, according to the company’s website. The QX-1L kit is compatible with the Quickie Iris Large Wheel Model wheelchair (axle located above the wheelchair frame), and the QX-1S kit is compatible with the Quickie Iris Small Wheel Model wheelchair (axle located below the wheelchair frame).
The third kit available from the company—the QX-2—is compatible with the Invacare Solara Model wheelchair.
A media release from the company notes that its suspension systems are designed to help prevent skin breakdown, to help reduce muscle spasticity and bodily seizures caused by mobility shocks, to protect and maintain spinal alignment, and to prevent sacral sitting by absorbing shock impacts.
