Dallas-based Bluegreen Communities, a home developer and some business donors are donating two new Texas homes for wounded war heroes. The land and home donations are being made possible through Operation FINALLY HOME and its supporters, Bluegreen Communities, NAPE Expo, Classic Custom Homes, RDGS Architects and Acme Brick.
Operation FINALLY HOME is an organization that honors wounded and disabled veterans and widows of fallen soldiers with new homes. Bluegreen Communities will provide a total of six lots throughout Texas to honor veterans and their families.
The families receiving land and custom-built homes include Sergeant First Class Alan Hornaday and his wife, Sheila, of Fordyce, Arkansas, as well as Sergeant Levi Wilson, Jr. and his wife, Katie, of Fort Worth, Texas. Sergeant First Class Hornaday is a veteran of the U.S. Army who sustained injuries in Baghdad in 2004, and Sergeant Wilson is a U.S. Army veteran who was also injured in Iraq in early 2008.
“These men paid for their homes in full on the battlefield. It’s our honor to deliver them,” said Dan Koscher, president and CEO of Bluegreen Communities in the press release. “Bluegreen Communities is committed to delivering the dream and we are so happy to make this possible for these families.”
